Wayne's Half Ironman done in record time! (by Suzie)

Good news! All of Wayne's hard work and training is paying off. He just finished his second of three big events. The first was the City to Surf Marathon at the end of August. And last Sunday he finished the Half Ironman Event in Mandurah, shaving off 10 minutes for a new PB (personal best). Great job Wayne!  Next is the third and final event: the full Ironman in Busselton (December 7th).

Here are some highlights from his race:

Noah, Kelli (a teacher friend of Suzie's from Melbourne in 2000), and Ellise
cheering for Wayne!

Looking good! He took 30 minutes for the swim (1.9km) and 2 hours and 30 minutes total for the bike (90km). Now just the run to do (21km). Just a half marathon left!

Happy to still be moving as the temps were nearing 100F.

The last, painful loop...

Team Fetter's base camp for the day.

Canadian imports brought in to cheer.
Thanks Sean and Krystin Rennie!

AHH! Done at last.... 5 hours and 30 minutes to finish. A PB by 10 minutes.

The first stop for all the finishers:
right in the cool estuary water of Mandurah!

A great day.

Send him some good wishes as DECEMBER 7th gets closer and closer.
